About This Fundraiser

In early February, Centennial's We the People team competed with 9 other high schools in State Finals in
Sacramento. The students participated in a series of mock congressional hearings to showcase their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution.
Centennial finished 3rd by a razor-thin margin and has earned a wild card invitation to be one of 3 schools to represent California at the
National Competition in Washington, D.C. in mid-April. This is the sixth time Centennial has qualified for nationals and the first time
since 2012.

The cost of sending a team of twenty-four students plus four adult chaperones to enable our participation in the finals in our nation’s
capital is approximately $75,000. We face the very difficult task of raising this amount in less than 8 weeks. We are seeking donations from local businesses and will be holding a fundraising dinner/event in a few weeks. 

Our target audience for this online fundraiser is our many great alumni and their families. There have been over 700 students who have participated in We the People over the last 28 years and you know better than anyone the kind of impact it can have on students. If we could get every alumni (or one of their friends or family members) to donate an average of $20, we could easily exceed our goal of $12,000 for this online campaign.
