    About This Fundraiser

    Donor,

    When done right Track and Field helps our youth learn to identify their current strengths and weaknesses in a particular event, address their weaknesses and build on their strengths to make personal improvements.  This is all done with their peer support.

    Coaches and teammates get a unique opportunity to teach self-acceptance to help move youth away from the traps of comparison to others. 

    Hours spent in practice and competition repeating the same activity with the support of adults and peers are remembered for a life time.

    In my many years of working with youth, I have never found anything else as effective at teaching a growth mindset as track and field.

    We are fortunate to be able to take 25 athletes from Alice Birney to a State level track and field meet in San Diego.  The road trip, the hotel room, the hours at the meet, the recreation will create memories and interpersonal relationship skills that will last a lifetime

    This trip will cost about $400 per athlete.  This will not be possible without financial support from individuals like you. Your donation is greatly appreciated, and you will receive a tax-deductible receipt via email.
