    About This Fundraiser

    Fundraising is vital for the success of our program! And we are extremely grateful to anyone who can support us in our goal to create wonderful works of theatre and musical theatre, while providing our students with the best possible learning opportunities and experiences. We set out to prepare them for college and career theatre, while also providing a safe, loving place for students to hang out and be a part of the Guyer Theatre Family. The funds will aid us in areas such as costumes, props, scenery building supplies, stage makeup, lighting equipment and upkeep, printing expenses, and other pertinent expenses. Right now, our primary goal is fundraising to help us successfully produce the World Premier of a brand new musical entitled A-Wop Bop A-Loo Bop, a 50's jukebox musical which is family friendly, and sure to delight our audiences! Also, being in a World Premier is an exciting and rich learning experience for all of our students involved. Each participant has a monetary goal to help us on our way, so we appreciate you considering a donation so that they may reach it. Also, if you don't mind sharing the word on your own social media platforms to those you think might wish to help us, we would greatly appreciate that support as well. Thank you so much for your support of Guyer High School Theatre! Some words about our program! Guyer Theatre is thrilled to have been nominated for Best Musical in the Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards three times! We have had four Best Actor/Actresses from Dallas Summer Musicals, who went on to the Jimmy Awards nationals, and we we have been at the UIL One Act Play State six times! We also have had a best musical and best play nomination for the Betty Buckley Awards program. We have performed children's musicals such as Peter Pan, A Year With Frog and Toad, and Mary Poppins for the Denton ISD first graders! We do community outreach with our support of the Salvation Army kettle kickoff program at Christmas. And we also have numerous graduates attending colleges/universities/conservatories studying acting, musical theatre, technical theatre, and theatre education, as well as having people out working as professionals in the business! We are working hard to have an impact on our students, and then we hope to see our students have an impact on the world! Thank you for supporting us in our efforts.
